Shooting Context

This project was created for Passion Horlogère, a blog specializing in watchmaking news. The goal was to produce a unique ambiance packshot for the GT Tour Carbon model by Réservoir, a watch inspired by the automotive world. The image had to reflect the sporty and elegant essence of the watch, with a background evoking the intensity of the rear lights of a race car. Behind-the-scenes images were also taken to offer a glimpse into the shoot’s creative process.

Challenges Encountered

• Creating an immersive ambiance: integrating lighting effects reminiscent of the automotive world while keeping them subtle.
• Managing reflections: the dial and carbon finishes required precise lighting to avoid any unwanted reflections.
• Capturing the visual dynamism: conveying the sporty and high-end spirit of the watch in a single impactful image.

Solutions Provided

• Artistic Shot: a frontal composition showcasing the watch and its details, with red lighting effects evoking the rear lights of a car.
• Cohesive Artistic Direction: dynamic lighting was chosen to enhance the contrast between the carbon case and the red reflections in the background.
• Documented Backstage: behind-the-scenes photos were taken to highlight the creativity and technical expertise behind the final image production.
