Project Details
Client Context
In collaboration with Passion Horlogère, we carried out a packshot shoot for the Nomos Glashütte Autobahn Director’s Cut watch, a modern timepiece. This project included three images: two close-up packshots, one highlighting the dial and the other revealing the rear mechanism, both set against an orange background to accentuate the details. A third image, shot in darkness, showcases the unique phosphorescence of the dial, a key design feature of this watch.
Challenges Faced
-
Highlighting the details of the dial and mechanism: capturing the precision and finishes without compromising readability.
-
Faithfully reproducing the phosphorescence: creating an image in darkness that reveals the dial’s glow while maintaining aesthetic appeal.
-
Balancing colors and textures: harmonizing the bright tones of the orange background with the watch’s metallic materials.
Solutions Provided
-
Close-Up Shots: tight framing was used to emphasize the details of the dial and rear mechanism, while respecting proportions and finishes.
-
Controlled Lighting: soft lighting was employed to avoid reflections and bring out textures, along with a specific setup to capture the dial’s phosphorescent effect in the dark.
-
Careful Post-Production: precise retouching of contrasts and color balance to harmonize tones and ensure a faithful rendering of the materials.
