Luxury Perfume Still Life

Project Context

We were commissioned to create a photographic series centered on Rabanne’s fragrance line, part of the Puig group. The project was carried out directly with the brand’s product management team, without an intermediary agency. This direct collaboration allowed for greater creative freedom — from selecting materials to determining the visual rhythm and balancing artistic direction with product clarity.

Approach

We built a studio set based on a simple principle: avoiding overinterpretation of classic fragrance codes.
No visual excess, but a deliberate focus on lighting, texture, and contrast. The aim was to let the volumes speak, highlight the materials, and embrace a certain visual tension, all while maintaining product readability.

Each image was designed to stand on its own, but also as part of a consistent series. Variations in format (vertical/horizontal), background color (neutral/colored) were planned from the start.

Production

  • Upfront work on visual direction, in collaboration with Rabanne’s team
  • Full studio set construction
  • Material handling (surfaces/textures), pinpoint lighting, deep contrasts
  • Delivery of a coherent image series, ready for digital and print use

Let’s discuss

Studio perfume photography requires rigorous technical expertise and a clear artistic direction. Capturing the image of a bottle means knowing how to play with light, material, and contrast to enhance the volumes without betraying the original design. In a perfume bottle photoshoot, every detail matters: the glass transparency, reflections, logo readability, and the balance between shadow and shine. That’s why perfume packshot photography goes far beyond a simple product shot—it’s driven by a true visual intention.

At Rétines, we’ve developed a specific approach to perfume packshots, blending classic product photography with high-end still life aesthetics. This allows us to create premium visuals, suitable for both e-commerce use and broader communication campaigns or social media. This type of studio photography is aimed at both perfume brands and creative agencies seeking precise, balanced, and ready-to-use images. From framing to the final render, we design each image as a visual communication tool serving the product.
