Details of the Project

Context of the Shooting

As part of enriching our portfolio in wine and spirits, we conducted a still life shoot at the prestigious Balthazar Hotel, located in Rennes.

The goal was to create varied setups using three different sets, allowing us to explore multiple visual approaches and adapt the lighting and composition to the specific features of each bottle. For this project, we collaborated with a mixologist, François from Bar Spirits, who provided a selection of bottles and crafted cocktails to add character to our images.

Challenges Encountered

  • Creating distinct atmospheres for each of the three sets without losing visual coherence.

  • Managing reflections on the spirit bottles while preserving their texture and transparency.

  • Highlighting the prepared cocktails, capturing their color and composition with precision.

Solutions Provided

  • Three Different Setups: Variation of backgrounds, lighting, and accessories to diversify shooting styles.

  • Controlled Lighting: Fine management of reflections on the glass and shadows to enhance both the bottles and cocktails.

  • Balanced Composition & Focus on Detail: Each image was designed to reflect the ambiance of a high-end bar.

Let’s discuss

Spirit and cocktail photography, whether in the studio or real-life settings, is a demanding exercise that requires precise control over light, reflections, and glass transparency. A still life shoot of bottles captures the textures, labels, and details of the spirits with finesse, ensuring optimal presentation across print, e-commerce, and social media platforms. Cocktail photography adds a dynamic, sensory dimension, requiring specific lighting to enhance the colors and glass presentation. This type of visual content is essential for spirit brands, bars, and high-end establishments looking to elevate their image with impactful imagery.
